The Mother of all Research Projects

UGH!

We have a huge project due on Friday morning. It's a Single Subject Design paper, poster, brief, and presentation for Research II class. Most of my classmates are working on it now and we communicate our "pain" via Facebook and e-mail. It's the last BIG project of the semester, and if we just break it down into pieces we will all be fine -- and get it done.

I am somewhat blocked. Like many in my cohort, I am meeting with my professor to make sure I am on track and headed in the right direction. Today I plan to get the paper finished as far as I can take it. After meeting with the prof tomorrow, I hope to finish up the remainder of it.

Once this project is out of the way, I can concentrate on my last final exam which will be on Saturday morning.

At this time next week, it will all be over. Let me know how you are doing with your finals. I'd love to commiserate, er I mean, communicate, with you!

  1. Luckily, I have no exams, but I do have a research design to complete by the end of this week. It's all contained in my head, so I just have to get it on paper! Good luck with your project.

  2. Thanks antiSWer!

I've made some real progress today. I feel better about it, tho one of my classmates said after she met with the Prof she was starting over. I pray that isn't the case for me...

  4. I've got one final paper down (and it was a small one) and one to go.  Due on Saturday!  Like antiSWer said, it's all in my head, just gotta get it on paper.  I'll be writing it tonight and hopefully finishing it so I can relax the rest of the week.  Seems like all MSWs have to do SSD in their research classes -- I have quite a few classmates stressing about theirs!  As a macro student we did a program evaluation for our research II class  which I took over the summer to lighten my load this semester!

  5. I have to say this assignment is wearing me out! I can't decide if it's the fact that it's the end of the semester that leads to a month-long break or what. I AM EXHAUSTED!

Every day, right about this time (5:30 p.m.), I am just worn out and feel like I could go to sleep!

Sorry to whine; it probably isn't very helpful. It's where I am at this moment. And, I know: This too shall pass!

  6. I am so jealous of your remaining projects! We had our program evaluation a few weeks ago...

I need to get this done so I can study for a final exam. The prof sent us new stuff TODAY that we need to know  for Saturday's exam!

  7. And breath! You will get through it, probably with flying colours. Take care of yourself (the 5:30 exhaustion may be a sign that you need to take a break). The break is coming and you will be fine. You might want to step up your favourite immunity booster. I often found that at the end of the semester, when I was taking a deep breath, was when the bugs caught up with me. Now that I have figured this out, I'm going to try to be a little more proactive on this situation.

  8. Thanks, Carolyn!
I shall get out the vitamin booster! May even get a B-12 shot for good measure!
